CANCELLATION of OFFER

In Sydney, at present, one in five passengers are not there when the taxi arrives, and one in six taxis just don't turn up anyway.

TAXIS want to change that.

Our system is based on offer and acceptance of a taxi job and of performance of the contract. Both passenger and driver have agreed, and both need to do what they have agreed to. There are always exceptions and good reasons to cancel.

A bad reason is a better offer after accepting the job.

A bad exception is calling two cab companies.

If the cancellation doesn't affect the service, or occurs before the service has effectively started, then there is no harm in cancelling or changing the details of the offer. If the offer has not yet been accepted, it's easy to cancel or change.

But if the taxi has already set off on the pick-up journey and has committed himself for both time and money to do the job, the cancellation is subject to a cancellation fee. In the event of repeated "no shows" we reseve the right to charge a fee to the extent that the driver has provided at least part of the service.

And unless there is a good reason, and one which we at TAXIS can work around, a cancellation by the driver who has accepted the job, is simply not acceptable. He has accepted the job and must complete his contract.

You will have the taxi number, drivers' name and mobile on your accepted job offer screen and can call the driver to check or change details.TAXIS can contact you to vary the details if necessary, the driver can only contact you through TAXIS. On arrival of the taxi, you get notification on your internet mobile.

Our aim is to provide a better service and one in which information is fully available to passenger and driver. TAXIS will register if a job has not been picked up and the driver will need to explain. If the passenger continually fails to be there, we will reserve the right to not post his job offers. If a taxi picks up the "wrong" passenger he will not get many more opportunities. TAXIS will be better.

Please cancel your offer as soon as you know that you don't want the taxi.
