CORPORATE AND GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT TERMS and CONDITIONS

Taxis is all about giving you a better service.

Your registration with and use of the TAXIS job offer internet service constitutes an acceptance and acknowledgment that this service is limited and confined to the broadcast of your job offer to taxi drivers on-line with TAXIS.

IT IS NOT A TAXI BOOKING SERVICE NOR IS IT A TAXI NETWORK SERVICE.

The system is an automated process whereby an intending taxi passenger offers his job details over the internet to on-line drivers, who may then accept the job and confirm that acceptance. The passenger then has a variety of payment options other than by cash - by his own credit cards or by a Credit Card from his Corporate or Governmental Employer, effected over the internet from the passenger's own internet enabled 3G mobile phone.

Credit Card for fares received by TAXIS on behalf of the taxi driver are paid into his account with an additional 2% from the credit surcharge. You can also use the driver's mobile.

Any contract which arises consequential to your offer and a taxi driver's acceptance is between you, the intending passenger, and the accepting driver. TAXIS is not a taxi service provider.

The acceptance of a passenger job offer, and the confirmation of expected time of arrival, creates a contract between driver and passenger. It is a primary condition that this contract be effected by the taxi driver being at the arranged pick-up point at the agreed time, to pick-up the nominated passenger, and also by the Passenger being where he has said he would be. Situations may arise, beyond the control of the driver, or the passenger, which may require a variation to the ETA, and the system provides for communication of that event in both directions.

In the past, you had no idea whether or not the booked cab would turn up. It's all changed !

You don't have to call a second or third Taxi Network, just in case. If you are worried, call the driver himself - you now have his number, in every respect.

TAXIS is also a payment system for taxis hailed and hired from the street, or rank.

Once you are in the cab you can start to think about paying for the ride. No matter which payment method you use, you get an e-mail receipt to your nominated address, and also back at the office directed to accounts cost centre. You can pay on Visa, Amex, Mastercard or Diners. It's all on-line so no issues about acceptance of the credit card or account. Visa or Mastercard Debit Cards are also OK. If it's stolen, lost or out of funds it just won't work.

So that's when you use our opposition, off-line !

The taxi driver can easily create a Job Number; so that his details come up as soon as you are ready to pay from your mobile as a TAXIS user from the rank or street. All you do is enter the Job Number.

Your use of the TAXIS payment system for payment of the taxi fare through your registered credit card requires the electronic verification of your unique user name and password. Payment will only be processed for a taxi fare due to a taxi driver and will be accepted on behalf of the registered driver by TAXIS. An e-mail receipt / tax invoice will be sent for each transaction to your registered e-mail address.

Use of the TAXIS payment system incorporates the addition to the fare of a surcharge of 8.49% inclusive of GST, for a credit card payment, including a Corporate Credit Card. There are no other fees or charges, bonds or guarantees. Internet access to comprehensive records of passenger or corporate transactions is available to authorised and registered users.

The combination of a unique username and password to pay for a taxi trip with a unique combination of job number, taxi and taxi driver, time and date is deemed to be a taxi trip payment authorised on either your credit card facilities. The entry and confirmation, by you, of the amount of the fare, subject to investigation by TAXIS in the event of a query from the taxi driver or passenger as to the correctness of the amount paid, is deemed to be the fare payment, and any additional surcharge.

The use by any other person of your username and password will be deemed to have been authorised by you. Please change your password if you have any reason to believe that your security has been compromised, or advise TAXIS by e-mail or on-line to suspend the account pending re-registration and investigation. Do not give your user name or password to another person - they can open their own account without any difficulty, and your family members can be users on your card when so authorised by you.

Fraudulent use of your user name and password, however obtained, by a taxi driver shall be advised to the respective State Ministry of Transport for prosecution.

TAXIS will not process payment on any credit card which has been suspended, cancelled or reported as lost or stolen by and to the card issuer, or on an account which has been suspended, or on which the user has ceased to be authorised, or is limited in the use of the account by the account holder.

Where a card or account is not accepted by TAXIS, the passenger will need to make alterative arrangements to pay the fare for the taxi trip. Please be aware that fare evasion is an offense under NSW and other States' Passenger Transport Acts and penalties of up to $2000 apply. The fraudulent use of a credit card or account to pay, or attempt to pay, a taxi fare will be advised to the Police to be prosecuted as "fare evasion"

The system incorporates measures to prevent and forstall abuse of the system. It is designed to be an aid to the passenger and driver and to make it simple. Where a driver provides such service that you wish to register the driver as your "driver-of-choice" the TAXIS system provides, facilitates and protects such a selection. We expect to pay the driver and to be paid for the taxi services supplied by the driver.

Visa or Mastercard Debit Cards are equally acceptable. Medibank is not. Cabcharge is not.

The TAXIS system is live on-line and an accepted payment is guaranteed by TAXIS to the driver, other than in instances of driver fraud. If a "chargeback" claim from a passenger proves to be valid we will reimburse the user, or his account. We will oppose claims where we can establish proof of a trip by a user, or by a person with access to the user name and password. TAXIS does not use paper or so-called "emergency dockets" and every transaction originates from a passenger with username, password and with on-line tracking, which flows from the issue of a unique "job number". We do not anticipate claims, because the system is planned to cut out the enormous level of fraud now present in existing systems, but do accept responsibility for investigating and meeting valid credit card "chargebacks".

In those regions where a taxi security camera system is operating, the downloaded images of the passengers at the time may be available to further establish proof of a valid transaction.

Since it is you, the passenger, who enters the amount to be paid, and you get confirmation plus an opportunity to correct an entry, just confirm the amount with the driver on the "red-for-check" screen on your own mobile before actually paying. Show the driver your screen and tell him the amount paid. He, and you, will get a "green-for-go" as an automatic next screen display.

If a short, or over payment, occurs, adjust or make an additional payment. If there continues to be a problem : no problem. We have all your card details and can put through an adjustment - all you need to do is to tell us by e-mail.

The hiring of a taxi commences with the activation of the taxi meter and is completed with the payment of the fare and the termination of the journey. Where a card or account is not accepted by TAXIS, the passenger himself or herself will need to make alterative arrangements to pay the fare for the taxi trip.

Our facilities are offered to Corporate and Government clients subject to their creit card payment for the taxi fares incurred by their authorised staff member, employee or other nominated guest user. The use of a corporate credit card will incur the same 8.49% surcharge, including GST.

There are no extra account fees, guarantees or deposits.
