TAXI DRIVER TERMS & CONDITIONS
Your Registration and Use of the TAXIS system constitutes an agreement on your part to the TAXIS Terms and Conditions of Use :
The system is an automated process whereby an intending taxi passenger offers his job details over the internet to on-line drivers, who may then accept the job and confirm that acceptance. The passenger then has a variety of payment options other than by cash - by one of several credit or account cards effected over the internet from the passenger’s own internet enabled 3G mobile phone. Payments are received by TAXIS on behalf of the taxi driver, and are paid into his nominated account with an additional 20% from the credit surcharge.
The acceptance of a passenger job offer, and the confirmation of expected time of arrival, creates a contract between driver and passenger. It is a primary condition that this contract be fulfilled, by the taxi driver being at the arranged pick-up point at the agreed time, to pick-up the nominated passenger. Situations may arise, beyond the control of the driver, which may require a variation to the ETA, and the system provides for communication of that event.
The abandonment of an accepted job in favour of another job is not acceptable.
Re-call of a job is only possible where there is no passenger disadvantage, and where there is sufficient time to re-offer the job.
You will have already had the choice of several job offers, and have made your selection.
The system incorporates measures to prevent and forstall abuse of the system. It is designed to be an aid to the driver and to maximize his earnings by increased jobs and tips. The Passenger Transport Regulations require that taxi drivers meet standards of behaviour and presentation, and those requirements are a foundation to the role of a taxi driver.
Where a driver provides such service that his passenger wishes to register the driver as his “driver-of-choice” the TAXIS system provides, facilitates and protects such a selection.And you, the nominated referral driver make ten cents evevry time he makes an offer.
TAXIS undertakes to pay, to the drivers account, the full amount of fares ( metered fare, extras, tips and tolls, or any greater amount paid by the passenger) plus 20% of the surcharge each week after midnight Wednesday and before start of business Thursday for the preceding week ending midnight Sunday, for payments made by Credit Cards.The delay is due to the time taken by the credit providors to pass on payment of an approved transaction. Payment of referral commissions will also be paid weekly, and payment will be deferred until the balance is a minimum of $50
TAXIS undertakes to pay, to the drivers account, the full amount of fares ( metered fare, extras, tips and tolls, or any greater amount paid by the passenger) plus 20% of the surcharge on payments through the Passenger's TAXIS account at the end of each shift (as logged off by the Taxi Driver or by the system automatically after 13 hours)
Payment will only be made to a taxi driver driving the nominated taxi, and from the fare payment made by a passenger authorizing payment for that trip. No swapping, no “pre-payments”.
The TAXIS system is live on-line and an accepted payment is guaranteed other than in instances of fraud by the driver. If a “chargeback” claim from a passenger proves to be driver error we will claim back losses from the driver, but will in the first instance oppose all such claims. TAXIS does not use paper or so-called ‘emergency dockets’ and every transaction originates from a passenger with user name, password and on-line tracking. We do not anticipate claims, nor do we facilitate a sloppy system which permits the claims in the first place.
In comparison to other payment and booking systems, the TAXIS system provides much greater information about both passenger and driver, all of which is integrated into a secure system and one which will reduce the overall level of fraud.
Use of the payment system is open to all taxi drivers, subject to the provision of valid identification (Drivers License, Drivers Authority and ABN ) and TAXIS will open an EFTPOS account for payment of fares plus 20 % of the surcharge. Use of the job offer system requires that you are a financial member of the ATDA for $35 a year. There are no other fees or charges.
