GOLD DRIVER GROUPS

Selected taxi drivers and existing groups will be able to form their own "Gold Groups" to ensure priority status for their clients to contact the "driver-of-choice" and to be able to make offers to members of the group.

Generally, to be a “gold group” member, you will need to be driving a long–wheel base premium vehicle, but do not have to be a ‘network’ premium taxi.

Where the group member receives and accepts an offer from a private client, on TAXIS, then both he and his activating team member will get a portion of the premium charges, where that charge has been included into the passengers’ offer. The group leader is in control of his group and their status. The premium fee charged as an ‘extra’ to the passenger will be split 40% to the actual driver, 40% to the originating driver, 10% to the group, and 10% to TAXIS.

When a customer who has registered your “Gold Group” as his preferred group, makes a job offer, then the group gets the benefits. Make sure that your customer nominates you as the preferred group, or even better for you, specifically as his driver.

The purpose is to encourage you, the driver who has regular client, to put his work into the system. You still get first crack at any job, but if you can’t do it, it will go to another team member, and you still get a share of the premium fee. If you now pass on jobs for nothing but brotherly love, think of getting about $4 a pop. And if you are worried about “carding”, the system ensures that a client is your client. If he is induced to change his “driver-of-choice” by another driver, you will be informed so that you can take appropriate action

TAXIS will not in any way induce a passenger to change his “Driver of choice” or Group.

If you get a direct phone call from a client, and you can’t accept the offer, then you can arrange that his offer goes into the system, as a job number, to the group, and you still get a share. You cannot pass on the job offer directly to another taxi driver.

If you or your group does not accept an "immediate" offer within the first minute it will automatically go out in the customer preference sequence to the wider fleet. It's your job, and you get first offer - but it requires immediate attention if it's an immediate job.

If it’s a job for later on, it will stay in your group, or with the nominated driver, for up to 15 minutes or until it becomes an "immediate". Jobs for the next day will stay “on offer” for an hour – but then we need to be able to confirm acceptance from somebody to the passenger, and therefore the job offer goes out to the fleet.

Unless you act quickly and accept the job, the benefits of the premium offer share is lost.

If the job offer is to you as the preferred driver, you will get a message on screen. But it's up to you to respond.

There is no cross over between Taxis and Hire Cars. Customers will have the certainty that if they offer a taxi job, it goes to a taxi. The issue is to be sure that the accepted premium service fee is charged as an extra, which has been incorporated into the passenger’s job offer.

The benefit to the existing “trunk” networks are that this is an on-going deal which will provide their members with an additional service at no direct cost, but at a direct benefit of $4 on a $10 extra. The “trunk” will also be getting 10%, additional to membership fees – and it will have substantial control over the way the work is done. It may, one day, offer an alternative to the trunk system.

To participate, you as the driver, need to register with all details. You also need to join the Australian Taxi Drivers Association
